Some people on a Nat Geo Megafactories documentary about the GT-R. I thought it was pretty obvious that, along with the footage from Top Gear, Nat Geo had dubbed LFA noises over the GT-R's. This is especially evident at around 32:19.

LFA only has sound going for it. Not a GTR fanboy but single clutch automated manual on a $300k+ price car? Come on. The car is probably about $150k more than what it should cost. Unfortunately the GTR isn't $60,000 anymore either.They are both examples of reaching for past glory by companies that formerly made affordable good performance cars.

The sole reason why Toyota priced the LFA at such a ludicrously high price is because of it's complete non-profitability. Toyota loses money on every single LFA made because of the huge development costs and attention to detail in its production. Plus, a double clutch 'box would've increased the weight of the car and Toyota wanted a better "feel" in the car whilst shifting. I understand that totally.

That's the thing, Japanese companies are not cost effective at all anymore when trying to produce performance cars. They need to tie themselves with Fiat (Mazda), BMW (Toyota), or work together like with Subaru (Toyota), to produce anything of note or they get into unprofitability. The only company that still builds any medium sized car that is sporty is Nissan and they haven't developed a totally new Z chassis in a long time now. Subaru chassis is shared through the company, that is what these companies used to do in part to save money. Nissan built the GTR in the R32 chassis which had a significant amount of profitable commuter car brothers. Now they refuse to attempt to build a sporting chassis other than for 1 car on their lineups. All you get is hotted up FWD cars like the MS3. Subaru fortunately is almost all AWD only reason why the WRX is not FWD.

What's funny is i've seen multiple GTRs, not a single LFA. The car is irrelevant aside from car shows.

Well the GT-R's mass produced, since it's built on the same production line as the majority of Nissan's range. That being said, I'd take the LFA over a GT-R any day - the attention to detail and dedication it took reach production status wins me over any time.
